THE LAND SITUATION IN ARENDAL IS MAINLY GOOD.
The acerage of Arendal is 272km², of
which 254km² is land, and the rest is fresh water. There are good
development possibilities in many parts of the local authority. The
growth of the population is small and it doesn’t cause any
considerable problems for the landuse. The increase of the traffic
is higher and it cause the pressure on the roadnet.
Arendal has a long coastal zone which is
under pressure, especially caused by development of narrow downtown
area and a conflict around the interets about development of
roads.
