This is a tutorial page, it should help those making an SoE report to
better understand the ideas and concepts behind the SoE template. After the
report is prepared, this page should be removed. At a later stage this can
be automatically handled by the software, at the moment you will need to do
it manually by deleting this file from your report's directory.
This tool for reporting about the state of the environment (SoE) in a city is based on a template elaborated within CEROI project.
The template makes it possible to prepare city's own SoE report by filling city-specific information into a proposed preliminary structure, with a set of chapters covering suggested issues and themes.
In addition, a set of core indicators as well as indicators for use within individual themes will be proposed at a later state. This work is carried out with the help of CEROI participating cities, partner organisations, and the Advisory Board.
The presentation of individual issues within the SoE template
follows a DPSIR framework
that is widely used on the international level and has proved to be a logical and efficient way to deliver SoE information in a well-structured and user-friendly way. This also helps to make full use of possibilities offered by electronic media.
The tool also offers broad possibilities to customise the template according to needs, priorities and possibilities of individual cities. This includes flexibility in the way information is presented, themes and indicators are selected, and the internal structure is elaborated.
