Climate change

   What are the impacts of this issue

The climate warming impact causes the reduction of the water content of the Alamedin, the Ala Archa and the Chu rivers.

  •             Green zones are disappearing, as well as their unique biological diversion.
  •             Air temperature is rising, pollution of air by dust and gases is growing.
  •             In the end it has an impact on the health of the population.

            The positive trend of air temperature, recorded at meteorological stations over the last 70 years, shows the regional character of climate warming. It is probable to be related to:

  •         the drying out of the Aral sea;
  •         the approach of the desertification boundary;
  •         the intensive glaciers thawing (the average annual contraction of Tien Shan glaciers is 7-8 m);
  •         the emission of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere (over the last 20 years a positive trend of carbon dioxide concentration has been observed);
  •         the intensive urbanization of the city;
  •         the reduction of the area of green plantations, and so on.
