City administration and Ministry of health service supervise the activity of the department of public health service.

The department structure comprise of:

-         8 hospitals, including 3 maternity hospitals, perinatal center and gynaecological hospital;

-         26 polyclinics (from them 6 are stomatological);

-         Specialized medical and preventive establishments - station of first aid, T.B. prophylactic center, Hospital for consumptives, Endocrinological health center and two children^, s hospitals;

-         Disinfection station, Sanitary - epidemiological station, House of the child, Children^,s dairy kitchen etc.

          In the city there are medical establishments of republican and departmental subordination, and also private, such as: stomatological, treatment of eye illnesses, alcoholic and narcotic dependence removal, etc.
