Noise

  What is the general situation with the ISSUE?

                   The major sources of noise in Bishkek are:

- industrial enterprises;

-public catering establishments;

- transport.

            Motor transport is the major noise source in Bishkek. The noisiest part of the city is its center with heavy traffic. The level of noise is proportional to the volume of automobile traffic.

        Railway transport creates a relatively low noise and vibration level for the population on a rather narrow strip of land adjacent to the railroad and crossing Bishkek from the west to the east. Over the last years, the intensity of railway traffic has fallen considerably; besides, the zone adjacent to the railroad is to a considerable extent occupied by industrial enterprises.

             Air transport doest not actually influence the noise level, as the airport is more than 20 km far from the city.
