Water supply

What is being done to solve the problems

The results of toxicological investigations showed that the increased concentrations of some metals (lead, cadmium, nickel, chromium, zinc, stannum) in the ground waters of Orto Alysh and Ala Archa fields led to metabolic dysfunctions of renal ducts making prerequisites for the formation of renal calculi. A direct relation has been determined between the growth of water pollution by rotaviruses and hepatitis A viruses and the sickness rate of the population due to the low quality of water supply lines. Viral diseases incidence is not the highest among other diseases; it should be taken into account that the incidence of viral hepatitis and acute enteric infections in Bishkek is higher than in other regions of the republic.
