Wind regime is determined by the orographic
position of the area. The northern and southern circulation in the
direction of the Košická kotlina Basin orientation predominates in
the area of Košice. Average annual wind speed achieves 4.4 m/s. The
occurrence of climatic calm is 10.3%. The northern components of
circulation achieve the highest speed. The months of March and April
are the windiest ones and the months of August and September are the
least windy ones.
