Recreation and tourism

How does the SECTOR influence city environment

The city centre with its historical monuments is attractive for tourism. The number of beds in accommodation facilities is 2,058, of which 1,306 beds are in hotels, motels and lodging houses. The number of visitors achieved 108,298 persons in the last year, of which foreign visitors represented more than one third.

The nearest hinterland of the city satisfies mainly the needs of half day and weekend recreation of the inhabitants of the city. The forest park with children’s railway in the Čermelský potok Brook Valley, bob track and ski tows in Kavečany in winter are attractive places for this type of recreation.
