 What is the general
situation with the ISSUE?
During the last 30 years, the health state of the
population in the Košice Region has been significantly changed. The
occurrence of infectious diseases was decreased and the number of
civilisation diseases was increased. A great number of special works
of the State Health Institute in Košice have demonstrated a relation
between the impaired conditions of environment with the health
status of population. The frequency of diseases of the respiratory
system, allergies, as well as total impairment of the immunity of
people, mainly children, against diseases, is especially high.
