 What is causing the
problems
The environment of Košice is affected mainly by the
following environmental geology:
- intensive development of slope deformations in the eastern
district of the city,
- subsidence of undermined area caused by mining activity,
- devastation of lands caused by open-pit mining of
minerals,
- deposition of waste from the exploitation and beneficiation of
minerals,
- radiation of the geological environment,
- possible manifestations of seismic activity.
