Noise

   What is causing the problems

The current intensity of traffic on roads in the city causes that the roads are excessively loaded, mainly in peak hours between 8 and 9 o’clock a.m. and 1 and 4 o’clock p.m. during drives from residential districts to the city centre, when capacities of roads are fully exploited, and the crossroads are overloaded with vehicles.

The routes of lorries running through the built-up areas are serious problems causing excessive noisiness. In this case, this type of transport is rerouted to by pass roads with ban on lorries to enter residential zones save supply lorries.

The tramlines of municipal mass transportation are other causes of excessive noisiness. In spite of the fact that this is an environmental type of transport, which will be given preference in Košice also in the future, it causes excessive noisiness during the drive of the carriage on the subsoil, which is in bad technical condition.
