 REDUCTION OF EMISSION LEVELS FROM CO-GENERATION STATIONS, BOILER PLANTS

  • Pursuant to Riga's Heat Supply Policy, design of actions necessary to improve the quality of the environment in the city
  • Achievement of emission control systems in line with EU requirements to be set up at co-generation stations and larger boiler houses
  • Setting up of a working group to address issues related to reconstruction of older boiler houses to be adapted to utilise sawdust and other discarded timber by-products as fuel
  • Together with the Greater Riga Regional Environmental Board, stricter control over the quality of fuel and emissions at local boiler houses
