make
a difference
To improve preservation of the biological
diversity and further diversification
of the city's ecosystems the Riga City Council is
determined to implement the folowing priority action programme:

On the basis of the
National Biological Diversity Program, preparation and
implementation of a biological diversity programme for the
City
-
Elaboration, update,
and implementation of management plans of protected territories of
nature
-
Elaboration of the
guidelines for the development of Riga's green open space
structure
-
Resolution of owners
rights in nature protected
territories
-
Inventory the
biological diversity and set up appropriate guidelines or city
regulation in the areas which are not of national
importance
-
Informing the public
about biological diversity and endangered species and explaining
the need to conserve and protect such
areas
