 What we can do to make a
difference
To
improve preservation and re-establishment of
nature in the city the Riga City Council is
determined to implement the folowing priority action
programme

Elaboration of the
guidelines and regulations for the development of
Riga's green open space structure
-
Reservation of the present greenery area in
the city centre for the same purpose in future, while improving
the quality
-
Use of real estate
tax, according to the cadastral value of land, as the tool for
sound and effective development in the City's
territories
-
The elaboration and
implementation of the program for the public greenery
-
The part of allotment
of gardens and fallow land territories in future should be used
for other land use purposes in the City, providing the development
of greenery there
-
Involvement of
different interest groups of the Riga's society in the
implementation of programs and projects concerning nature
protection issues
