  What is causing the problems 

INADEQUATE SOCIAL ENVIRONMENT IN THE CITY

 CAUSES

1. Lack of comprehensive and complex assessment of the social situation to serve as a basis for a policy for related improvements

2. Lack of policy co-ordination among municipal authorities to the detriment of urban development in all areas

3.Lack of a social and health care policy document and a social rehabilitation scheme

4. Insufficient co-operation among national, municipal and non-governmental organisations in the provision of social and health care services accessible to all those in need

5. Lack of data on the social and financial situation of different social groups and their need for assistance

6. Lack of funding for social rehabilitation measures

7. L ack of information to the public about their rights to receive social assistance

  CAUSES
 

1. Low quality of life

2. Negligent attitude of people towards the environment and their own health

3. Increased chemical air pollution and noise pollution in parts of the city to levels dangerous for human health

4. Low quality drinking water in communal wells and technical inadequacy of pipes in the centralised water supply system

5. Microbiological pollution of water in swimming areas

6. Lack of comprehensive food quality control mechanisms

7. Spread of tick-bone encephalitis and other diseases

8. Lack of information about how human health is affected by environmental factors

9. Certain lack of policy co-ordination among different municipal authorities to the detriment of public health
