Information about this report

State of the Environment in Tbilisi 2000 is produced by UNEP/ GRID-Tbilisi centre to facilitate better access to user-friendly valuable environmental information for wide public (from decision-makers to all, who is interested).

Elaboration of the report is based on the data of UNEP/GRID national environmental information network, represented by different organisations, such as:

• state executive bodies and their branches,
• education, research and scientific organisations,
• non-governmental environmental organisations,
• co-ordination implementation units of national and international programs and others.

Collection of data (texts, tables, visual, other) and elaboration of the report are based on the set of environmental (and other) indicators in the "State- Pressure-Response" frame approach. For the data compilation/visualisation modern information technology tools (GIS, databases, appropriate software etc) are used.
