 What you can do to help
your city
The law "On Transit and Import of Wastes on
the territory of Georgia", 1998, representing quite effective
regulation mechanism, has been adopted. The work on the "Law on
Wastes" is going on, where the rights, responsibilities or
obligations of management links (central, regional, local) and
juridical persons (individuals, public, private and other
institutions), also citizens in connection with waste-related
activities (origin, transportation, collection, recycling,
neutralization and disposal).
Georgia joined The
Convention on Transboundary Movement of Hazardous Wastes (Basel
Convention) within the limits of which it is expected to obtain
technical and other assistance in the field of hazardous wastes on
the ground of bi- or multilateral co-operation.
